Apple lowered iPhone price (8 GB) from $599 USD to $399 USD within 70 days of the official release date. The news was not pleasant to the new iPhone owners. Recently, one of the early adopters of the new iphone filed a lawsuit against Apple Inc. for violating price discrimination law. Hence, Apple decided to return $200 dollars to iPhone buyers.

Those of you who bought iPhone for $599 within 14 days of it’s release, you are eligible to receive a rebates of $200 USD. The news of this lawsuit against Apple by a New York woman came to Yahoo! news. According to the news source, Dongmei Li brought the accusation on September 24th in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, the price reduction injured early purchasers like herself because they cannot resell the product for the same profit as those who bought the cell phone following the price cut.

After this incident Apple apologized to customers for the inconvenience and announced the $200 dollars rebates to the early iPhone buyers. No official spokesperson from Apple wanted to comment regarding the lawsuit.
